Having problems with lifting your foot? Problems with balance or falls? The foot drop stimulator could be a solution for these difficulties.

This is a high technology device providing electrical current to your weakened/paralysed muscles to evoke desirable action e.g. lifting a foot. This assistance will be synchronised with your pace and walking pattern.

It could be very helpful for people who want to improve their mobility as it has been affected in results of the lesion of upper motor neuron. It is the impairment located between the brain and the spinal cord e.g.:

  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Head injuries
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Cerebral palsy and many others.

However it will not be suitable for injuries occurring in the lower motor neuron distance between the spinal cord and peripheral nerves e.g.

  • polyneuropathy
  • poliomyelitis (polio)
  • motor neuron disease
  • Guille-Barre syndrome.
